There are two ways of measuring the brightness of a subject. Select the way
best suited to your purpose.

• If no operation is performed for about 3
seconds, the selected mode is set and the
mode selector screen is automatically
exited.

Meters the center of the subject and the surrounding
area separately.
Exposure is determined by metering within the AF
target area. In this mode, a subject can be shot with
optimal exposure regardless of the background
light.
